In this project has trained me a lot of information collection and refining capacity. I learned how to turn my design in mind into a 3D model. A visible system. In my design I learn from design gurus like Escher. From the master of the classic techniques of visual design. I would like to make some design of his kind, carefully arranged layout design work. At the same time I learned and skilled software, such as the Dragon. After my presentation, I took the advice of my tutor and classmates to improve my design. Late, I also use the video method to show my ideas(design). I like this project, it has tempered my ability to cross the design(art) media and platform.
Assembly
This project is very challenging. First I need to use component to make my work. Second I need to make profit, measure the cost. Third I need to consider the market (Christmas market). When I decided my design direction, I started a lot of material research and tone testing. I studded the product and disassemble it, replacing it with it with my own material. I constantly changed my design in the process of measuring costs, and finally make it simple and clear. I also researched the market, learning toys for children. In the first day of the market, I observed the sales and price of other classmates, and observe the customers. The next day, I made the price changes, the results sold well. This project let me think about a lot things that I didn’t consider about. Like the market and the price, how to reduce the cost, the most important is the target customers. After the market is over, I still challenged myself. I finished the things I wanted to do before.I learned to use lathe, although the whole process is very hard, but I got the staff's (Neal) help, he taught me a lot about wood skills.
Expanded Designer
I think the key thing to this project is cooperation. We have five members from three majors. (2 Illustration 2 Graphic Design 2 3D Design). Our panel discussions have been very successful. We decided quit early on to design the direction, and then went through many discussions and improvements in the final decision. Our division of labor is very clear, each majors focus on expertise. After everyone completed their work, the final product and exhibition very success. This project has trained my ability to communicate with other designers from different majors, and cooperation. This is my first exhibition, I am very pleased that the final product is recognized by the audience.
